EA SPORTS FC 27 Pro Season Unveiled with $2.5 Million Prize Pool and London Qualifier

According to EA's format reveal this week, the new competitive ladder reshapes the entry path, narrows the safety net, and expands the regional footprint across the Middle East.

Entry window and ladder structure

The FC Pro Open Ladder opens 21 September and runs through 3 October, hosted inside EA SPORTS FC 27 Ultimate Team. Players reach the entry point through the FC Pro tab in-game — no external registration required — provided they have hit Division 5 or higher in Division Rivals.

The ladder runs 24 hours a day across 10 regions. Only PlayStation 5 participants feed into the competitive pipeline; Xbox Series X|S players can collect in-game rewards but cannot advance. The top 1,376 PS5 players progress to the Regional Qualifiers.

Regionals go online on 10–11 October in a Swiss stage followed by a double-elimination bracket. From that field, 52 players punch tickets to the London Global Qualifier.

London and the Global Qualifier

The London event in November fields 64 players: the 52 regional qualifiers plus 12 direct invitations. The invitations go to players who finished fifth through 16th at last season's FC Pro Open.

The structural shift worth tracking: the Global Qualifier drops the Last Chance Qualifier for this season. Every stage now carries weight. A five-round Swiss stage feeds into the top 32, who split into four double-elimination brackets. Sixteen players advance to the FC Pro Open.

For the four who finish last in their respective brackets, the consolation is an invitation to next season's Global Qualifier. Fifth- and sixth-place finishers restart their journey from the ladder.

The Open and the road to the World Championship

The FC Pro Open itself caps at 24 players — the 16 Global Qualifier graduates joined by eight returning invited stars from last season's Open and World Championship. The group stage runs as a double round-robin.

Group winners book direct seats at the World Championship. Second- and third-place finishers advance to the Finals. For everyone else, the remaining routes into the season finale run through three FC Pro Open Cups, the FC Pro Leagues, and a World Championship Last Chance Qualifier.

Circuit Points flow from the Open Cups. Twenty-eight players ultimately punch into the World Championship Play-Ins — a 64-player stage running through Swiss, double-elimination, and single-elimination rounds. The 36-player World Championship retains last season's League Stage format, then cuts to a 24-player knockout bracket. Eight of those 36 slots come from the FC Pro Open.

Regional expansion

EA has folded Bahrain, Jordan, Libya, and Oman into the Middle East region — the first season FC Pro has opened up to competitors across those four markets. The expansion arrives shortly after EA was acquired, with Saudi investment funds named as part of the deal, and signals a wider competitive tail in a region that has been historically underserved by the FC Pro circuit.

What to watch

The removal of the Last Chance Qualifier at the Global stage raises the stakes on every bracket decision — there is no second life for a bad Swiss run. For PS5 competitors ranked Division 5 or higher, the entry window is narrow: 21 September to 3 October. The 12 invitees drawn from last season's fifth-through-16th finishers will set the early competitive benchmark in London, and the first matchdays of the Regional Qualifiers on 10 October will be the first live test of how the new ladder holds up under pressure.
