The report says the Esports Foundation confirmed the relocation on May 20, after an extended evaluation tied to the regional situation. Paris Expo Porte de Versailles becomes the venue for the first Esports World Cup staged outside Saudi Arabia since the event debuted in 2024.

The calendar holds, the event map changes

The key competitive detail is continuity. Tech Insider reports that the dates, game list and tournament count remain intact despite the venue change. Around 2,000 competitors from more than 200 clubs and 100 countries are expected across the programme.

That preserves the central pressure point for organisations: the World Cup remains a long, multi-title campaign rather than a single bracket to target. Teams still need to manage recovery, analysts, substitutes and equipment across a seven-week window. The difference is that every routine built around Riyadh now has to be rebuilt around Paris.
